The Challenge

DIY attempts stalled. The homeowner tried to cut the window openings before calling us. In 10" concrete, that usually leads to the same outcome: slow progress, blown edges, and a wall that now needs patch work before anyone can even frame it.

You still need clean geometry. Window openings aren’t “just holes.” You need straight lines and a clean cut perimeter so the next trade can install properly without fighting the concrete.

On this site, the priorities were:

• Controlled cut lines for two 3’×1’ openings
• Controlled removal of two protrusions without collateral damage to the remaining wall
• Predictable staging so the builder could keep moving

Our Work

1) Two basement window cut-outs (3 ft × 1 ft each)

We laid out each opening and established clean cut boundaries. Once the perimeter is controlled, removal becomes predictable—no random cracking running past your intended line.

2) Two protrusions removed (~10" thick)

We isolated each protrusion and removed it in a controlled manner so the surrounding wall line stayed intact. This is exactly where concrete cutting beats impact removal: you remove only what’s required and protect what stays.

3) Staging and cleanup

All removed concrete was brought outside and staged on site. Disposal/haul-away was not part of this scope.
