Concrete Slab Cutting — 100 Jamieson Ave (Toronto)

DRM completed a 3-day concrete slab cutting scope at 100 Jamieson Ave, Toronto, removing 6,000 sq ft of 8-inch reinforced concrete from an underground parking roof slab. Cutting was executed with three walk-behind saws, producing manageable 3 ft × 2 ft sections for safe handling, haul-out, and recycling.

Challenge

This scope required fast, controlled sectioning of thick reinforced concrete while keeping the site organized for ongoing work. The key was to produce consistent, manageable pieces for removal without turning the slab into an unpredictable demolition zone.

DRM Approach

We built the job around repeatable panel sizing and production rhythm:

  1. Laid out a cutting grid to produce consistent 3 ft × 2 ft sections.
  2. Deployed three walk-behind saws to maintain throughput and control.
  3. Removed cut sections progressively to keep working areas clear.
  4. Extended the same controlled approach to old curbs and the slab in front of the building.
